Biting into the P.E.A.R.: Creating an equitable classroom through Participation, Equity, Access and Relationships

July 25, 2023 @ 9:00 am - July 26, 2023 @ 12:00 pm

This session is important as we explore why equitable classrooms are essential to building a pathway for teachers to break down barriers so that students can engage in practices that will help them meet  their full academic and social potential. In this session participants will engage in interactive activities that will  lay the foundation for facilitating lessons to address and highlight equitable practices. Participants will walk-away with tools necessary for them to start the conversation by looking at current curricula, language, and classroom practices with an   equity lens that focuses on advocacy.  After attending this session, participants will know how to actively  support students through the self advocacy process, facilitate student-led discussions, and develop strategies.
